Dr. Alvaro Flores Sanchez
Dr. Alvaro Flores Sanchez is a Consultant Radiation / Clinical Oncologist who graduated with a Degree in Medicine from the University of Seville. He is currently (since 2016) a Consultant Clinical Oncologist at St. Bernard´s Hospital, Gibraltar as well as GenesisCare in the UK and Spain.
Dr. Flores was a specialist registrar in Macarena University Hospital in Seville and was sponsored by Dr. Zelefsky for a prostate cancer training program in the Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center (MSKCC) in New York (USA).
From there he took an internship in the Ramón y Cajal Hospital in Madrid specializing in Brachytherapy and SBRT.
Dr. Flores has also worked in the Republic of Ireland as a Registrar in Radiation Oncology at University Hospital Galway, Consultant Radiation Oncologist in Cork University Hospital, specializing in Prostate and gastrointestinal tumors.
He is a member of the following bodies:
European Society for Radiotherapy and Oncology (ESTRO)Spanish Society of Radiation Oncology (SEOR) and member of the Hyperthermia research group European Society for Hyperthermic Oncology
As part of his consultation at Ocean Medical Clinic, Dr Flores offers a medical history and physical examination, the evaluation and request/referral for further imaging if necessary and the determination of the oncological treatment approach, especially in the evaluation of the radiotherapy technique needed.
